2336. Hon Alison Xamon to the Minister for Child Protection representing the Minister for Planning I refer to the sump in Bush Forever site 385 in Mirrabooka, and ask —
(1) Who installed the sump?
(2) Who approved the installation of the sump?
(3) When was it approved?
(4) What conditions were placed upon the approval of the sump?
(5) Who is responsible for managing the sump?
(6) Who is responsible for monitoring the quality and quantity of water discharged into the sump?
(7) Which drain network is it connected to?
Hon ROBYN McSWEENEY replied:
(1) It is understood that the sump was installed by the City of Stirling in the early 1980's.
(2)-(4) Unknown. Background information on the installation, approval and any associated conditions of the sump is currently the subject of enquiries being made by the Western Australian Planning Commission to the City of Stirling and the Department of Housing (formerly Housing Authority). However, initial enquiries indicate that it is unlikely that this historical information has been retained.
(5)-(6) City of Stirling
(7) It is understood that the sump is connected to an extensive local drainage network north of Yirrigan Drive that includes Mirrabooka Square and parts of the surrounding suburb.
