Greens spokesperson for Mental Health, Penny Wright, is alarmed by reports that the suicide rate in rural Australia is as high as one suicide per week.
Research conducted by the CSIRO has found that farmers in vulnerable communities are currently already suffering from mental health issues. Coupled with the report by the Climate Institute highlighting the effects of climate change on mental health in the future, this is cause for concern.
