Hairdressing industry representitives - meeting with Minister for Commerce
883. Hon ALISON XAMON to the Leader of the House representing the Minister for Commerce:
This question is to the Leader of the House representing the Minister for Commerce. I refer to undertakings made during the debate on the Hairdressers Registration (Amendment and Expiry) Bill 2010.
(1) Will the minister meet with the leaders of the hairdressing industry to discuss and assist a project of self-regulation?
(2) When will this meeting take place?
(3) Who will the minister meet with?
Hon NORMAN MOORE replied:
I thank the member for some notice of the question, which was asked on 19 October; therefore, this answer is relevant to that occasion.
(1)–(3) I am advised that the Minister for Commerce would be pleased if industry associations or representatives want to discuss aspects of self-regulation for the hairdressing industry. Those representatives are welcome to meet with senior officers of the Department of Commerce to discuss matters of mutual interest.
