61. Hon Alison Xamon to the minister representing the Minister for Corrective Services:
I refer to the Melaleuca Remand and Reintegration Facility for women operated by Sodexo, and I ask:
(a) how many women are currently accommodated at the facility;
(b) how many times has Sodexo been found to have breached its contract with the Department of Corrective Services in the operation of this facility;
(c) on what basis was the contract found to have been breached for each instance advised in (b); and
(d) what action was taken by the Department of Corrective Services in regard to each breach?
Hon Stephen Dawson replied:
The Department of Corrective Services advises:
(a) 229 as at 26 June 2017.
(b) Sodexo has not formally been in breach of its contract of services in the operation of this facility.
(c) Not applicable.
(d) Not applicable.
