Metropolitan region improvement trust fund
139. Hon ALISON XAMON to the minister representing the Minister for Planning:
I refer to the metropolitan region improvement trust fund.
(1) How much money is currently in the fund?
(2) How much money in the fund is currently unallocated?
(3) To date, how much money has been spent on the acquisition of Bush Forever sites?
(4) When will the remainder of the original $100 million committed to Bush Forever be spent on the acquisition of Bush Forever sites?
(5) Will the minister prioritise acquiring those sites deemed by the Department of Environment and Conservation to be high priority?
Hon HELEN MORTON replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) There is $85 million in the fund.
(2) None; the metropolitan region improvement trust fund has current contingent liabilities of approximately $150 million.
(3) The amount spent to date is $82 539 311.
(4) In 2012–13.
(5) No. I have requested that the Western Australian Planning Commission treat the purchase of all remaining privately owned land reserved late last year under the Bush Forever and related lands metropolitan regional scheme amendment 1082/33 as a priority.
