2756. Hon Alison Xamon to the Minister for Energy representing the Minister for Education

I refer to the Budget papers page 359 Primary Education Efficiency Indicators, and ask —

(1) How do you propose to reduce the Cost per Student FTE from this year’s Estimated Actual to next year’s Budget Target?

Hon PETER COLLIER replied:

(1) The reduction in the Cost per Student FTE from the 2009-10 Estimated Actual to the 2010-11 Budget will be achieved through:

• an increase in student enrolments;
• the transition of the half-cohort to Secondary Education in 2010; and
• a reduction in expenditure that was incurred in 2009-10 through Building the Education Revolution 'School Pride' program.
