Priority water management areas — licence conditions
4776. Hon Alison Xamon to the Minister for Mental Health representing the Minister for Water
I refer to my question on notice No. 4443 regarding the metering of water licences > 5ML/annum in the Gnangara ground water priority water management areas in accordance with Strategic Policy 5.03 Metering the Taking of Water, and I ask —
(1) Regarding the 760 licenses that are required to meter and report their usage to the Department of Water, how many did so in —
(a) 2009–10; and
(b) 2010–11?
(2) How many of the 991 Government owned meters on the Gnangara Mound identified in the answer to question on notice No. 3885 are installed on licences > 5ML/annum?
(3) Regarding the 1,193 licences in the Gnangara water management area that are entitled to take more the 5ML/annum, but do not have a condition to meter and report their water usage —
(a) how many do so voluntarily;
(b) how many of these licences are expected to have a government owned meter retrofitted, and when does the Minister anticipate that this will take place;
(c) how many of these licences are due for renewal in —
(i) 2011–12; and
(ii) 2012–13,
(d) when does the Minister anticipate that all 1,193 licences will be metered?
