Transport
By virtue of our isolated geological location, Perth has become one of the most oil fuelled, car and road freight intensive cities in the world. Due to this, and the fact that this is a significant source of greenhouse gas emissions and urban air pollution, Perth is facing significant environmental, social and economic impacts.
Whilst transport is fundamental to our economic wellbeing and peoples social interaction, it is vital that government look for sustainable transport initiatives to provide access for people and products in a way that has much less impact on the community. Alison is supportive of sustainable transport initiatives that will facilitate efficient access, reduce increasing financial burdens on commuters and the public purse, enhance community wellbeing and protect the environment.
