Veterans Affairs

The Australian armed forces personnel, have tirelessly given service in defence of their country or in the keeping of peace around the world. Often the burden on defence force personnel and their families is great. Australian Defence Force members constantly face being killed or injured on active duty. As well, family life often involves numerous relocations to postings at various bases around Australia or extended time away from families on service duty.

Alison believes that Australia's veterans, their war widow(er)s and dependents need to continue to be supported through programs of health and wellbeing care, rehabilitation, compensation, financial support, Commemoration and other services by our government. Alison also believes that gays and lesbians who also serve in Australia’s military, should be entitled to the same rights and services that married and de facto heterosexual couples are.
