Warro-4 well — fracking activity
4892. Hon Alison Xamon to the Minister for Mines and Petroleum
I refer to the 7,876,666 litres of water used to frack the Warro-4 well as per my question on notice No. 4512, and I ask —
(1) How much of this water was sourced from —
(a) the ‘house’ bore;
(b) the bore established for the Warro-3 well; and
(c) elsewhere?
(2) If water was sourced from elsewhere, will the Minister please specify the other sources of water, and how much water came from each source?
(3) How many, if any, truck movements were required to transport this water?
(4) How much water has returned to the surface as of the end of October 2011?
(5) Where is the regurgitated fracking water being stored?
Hon NORMAN MOORE replied:
(1) (a) 1,550,133 litres
(b) 6,200,533 litres
(c) 126,000 litres
(2) Provided by a local land holder from their water entitlement.
(3) 14 truck loads were required
(4) As at 31 October 2011, 9,168,595 litres of fluid were pumped to the surface (this included stimulation fluid, produced fluid and drilling mud).
(5) All recovered fluid is stored in storage pits, which are plastic lined.
