I refer to the Melaleuca Remand and Reintegration Facility for women operated by Sodexo, and I ask:

(a) what programs are provided to women accommodated at the facility; and

(b) for each of the programs in (a), please provide:

(i) a brief description of the program;

(ii) the program duration;

(iii) who delivers the program; and

(iv) how many women have completed the program since the facility opened?

The Prisoners Journey An exploration of the Life of Jesus through Mark's Gospel. A new way of looking at the teachings of the Bible, the Christian faith and how they can be incorporated into daily life and the choices we make, 8 week program, 1.5 hour per session. Prison Fellowship 6 completions, 8 currently engaged
Bible Studies Sharing the experience of life through relationships with one another in exploring the bible and how it relates to our lives today. Ongoing drop in/out program, weekly sessions of 1 - 1.5 hours Prison Fellowship Ongoing, no completion date, 28 currently engaged.
Crossroads Correspondence Bible Study Participants work at their own pace, with a New International Version bible, which is provided with lesson material for each lesson. As they complete a less it is sent off to a Mentor who will read it and provide feedback Self-paced learning Melaleuca Faith and Wellbeing Advisor Ongoing, no completion date, 5 currently engaged.
Alcohol awareness Create awarenenss of the impact of alcohol abuse. 2 weeks (20 hours) Melaleuca Learning Facilitator 40 completions, 10 currently engaged.
Arts and Crafts Encuraging leisure and creativity. 4 weeks (20 hours) Melaleuca Learning Facilitator 9 completions, 8 currently engaged.
Yellow Brick Road to Change A collection of personal development tools designed to develop pro-social skills and facilitate learning about the consequences of choices. The model has been developed to address various issues including character development, identity, self worth, decision-making, problem solving, respect, boundaries, values, conflict resolution and independent living. Ongoing - one session per week Yellow Ribbon 11 women have completed 6 challenges.
Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Brief Intervention The program is is targetted towards remand and short-stay women and offers stand-alone modules based on the larger group counselling program. These modules are more focused on brief intervention and focus on the topics/themes that have the biggest impact and can be delivered withing a shorter time frame. Long remand clients may have the capacity to complete all modules. 6 stand-alone modules of 2 hours duration. AOD Counsellor 15 completed, 10 currently enrolled.
AOD Group Program The program works to encourage open and honest conversation and learning in relation to addicition and understanding how these addicitions have impacted on their life as well as the lives of others. 10 weeks (approx 1 hour sessions) 1-2 hours per week in cell learning using AOD worksbooks AOD Counsellor 60 currently engaged
AOD Individual Counselling Caters to women irrespective of what stage of change they are at in addressing their addictions and is more suited to people with extensive trauma, individual needs and/or support or those who do not engage well in groups. 6 sessions (3 sessions for remand prisoners) approx 1 hour per session, 1-2 hours per week in cell learning using AOD worksbooks. AOD Counsellor 16 completions, 27 currently engaged
