TAFE — STUDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

HON ALISON XAMON (North Metropolitan) [6.34 pm]: I rise tonight because I want to make some comments about the student management system that is currently being implemented across the Western Australian TAFE system. It is an issue that I have been starting to ask questions about this week. I am not particularly overwhelmed by the quality of the answers that I have been receiving, but I will get to that in a moment. The reason I am asking questions about this is that I have been speaking to quite a few people within the TAFE system.

PLANNING — URBAN INFILL

HON ALISON XAMON (North Metropolitan) [9.48 pm]: I rise tonight to speak about a number of local planning issues that are arising in the North Metropolitan Region. During the winter recess I was approached by a number of residents and community groups from different parts of my region who are quite concerned about the future of their neighbourhoods. Their concern is primarily about the management of infill within Perth. The Greens are very supportive of the principle of infill; it is an important strategy to prevent an ever-expanding Perth region.
