2812. Hon Alison Xamon to the minister representing the Minister for Planning:
I refer to the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority’s plans for the demolition of Princess Margaret Hospital, and I ask:
(a) has an asbestos assessment of the site been undertaken:
(i) if yes to (a), will the Minister please table that assessment, if no, why not; and
(b) will the demolition of the site begin by December 2020;
(c) when does the Minister expect that demolition of this site will be completed?
Hon Stephen Dawson replied:
(a) Detailed asbestos investigations are currently underway.
(i) Not applicable.
(b) Yes, subject to the results of the detail site investigations and procurement of a contractor.
(c) The demolition program will be determined following the procurement of a demolition contractor.
