PLANNING — MCCALL CENTRE — 2 CURTIN AVENUE — COTTESLOE

1378. Hon Alison Xamon to the minister representing the Minister for Planning:

I refer to the site of the McCall Centre at 2 Curtin Avenue, Cottesloe, and I ask:

(a)  does the Government have any current plans regarding the future of this site;

(b)  if yes to (a), will the Minister please specify those plans;

(c)  what community consultation has been undertaken regarding the future of this site; and

(d)  what community consultation remains to be undertaken regarding the future of this site?

Hon Stephen Dawson replied:

(a)–(b) The asset is surplus to Government’s requirements and has remained vacant since 2015. Deconstraining works are currently being undertaken to support future disposal, in order to facilitate activation of the asset via adaptive reuse of the heritage improvements.

(c) No formal community consultation regarding the future of the site has been undertaken by the State Government.

(d) Any change to the site’s current Public Purposes – Special Uses reservation will require community consultation prior to a decision being made.
